Gatorade Endurance
Proper Training Can Take You Farther
Did you know you can train your gut—not only your muscles?
As your runs get longer, your body needs more fluids and carbohydrates to help keep you performing your best.
Here’s how to start:
- Understand your sweat rate. The goal is to lose no more than ~2% of your body weight during training or races. Individual sweat losses vary, so it’s important to determine your own losses (check your fluid loss).
- Match carbs to duration. Longer runs require more carbs—use duration-based guidelines to help plan intake (find out what you need)
- Practice progressively. Over several runs, gradually increase how much and how often you fuel and hydrate to reach your goal intake.
Training your gut and determining your individual needs and tolerances during practice runs may help reduce the risk of GI issues and can build confidence for race day. We’re proud to have Gatorade Endurance as the Official Hydration Partner of the Community First Fox Cities Marathon, delivering critical fuel and nutrients that play an important role to our athletes on race day!

Legacy Runner Club
It began in 1991 with the very first Fox Cities Marathon. No one was thinking about legacies—they were simply showing up, lacing up, and having fun.
But year after year, mile after mile, something remarkable happened.
A small group of dedicated runners never missed the start line. Through changing seasons, life milestones, and decades of memories, they kept coming back. Today, they are known as Legacy Runners—a living connection to the heart and history of the race.
MEET LEGACY RUNNER: Anne Siegrist
The Heart of a Legacy
When Dr. Anne Siegrist lines up for the Community First Fox Cities Marathon this fall, she won’t just be tackling 26.2 miles; she’ll be continuing a remarkable 35-year legacy. As one of only 10 “Legacy Runners” who have crossed the finish line of every single Fox Cities Marathon since its inception in 1991, Anne’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, community, and grit.
Participant Spotlight: Hairbows & Miles
Meet Lauren and Harper from Las Vegas, Nevada—a mother-daughter duo inspiring runners one mile at a time.
Originally from Menasha, Wisconsin, Harper discovered her love of running while in elementary school. She was eager to join her school’s running club but missed the age requirement by just one grade. After the family relocated to Nevada, Lauren searched for a way to help Harper continue pursuing her passion.
It takes more than 1,800 volunteers to make race weekend possible, and volunteer registration is open!
Whether you’re directing runners as a course marshal, handing out water and Gatorade at a hydration station, assisting at packet pickup, or cheering participants across the finish line, there’s a role for everyone.
Volunteering is a fun way to give back while experiencing the excitement of race weekend from a unique perspective. Invite your family, friends, coworkers, or community group to join you and help create an unforgettable experience for thousands of participants.
We can’t do it without you!
