The Community First Fox Cities Marathon Presented by Miron Construction is proud to announce it is donating more than $58,000 from its 2019 weekend of events. The donation brings the marathon’s total community impact to more than $1 million donated to local organizations and non-profits over its history.
“This is a tremendous milestone for the Community First Fox Cities Marathon and wouldn’t be possible without our amazing participants, volunteers and sponsors who show up each year to support our organization and the community,” said Courtney Vosters, chair of the Community First Fox Cities Marathon Board of Directors. “Despite not being able to hold our events this year due to COVID-19, we look forward to celebrating our 30-year milestone in 2021 and continuing our tradition of giving back to the community.”
The Fox Cities Marathon Board approved the distribution of more than $58,000 from 2019 proceeds. Organizations benefiting from donations include:
- YMCA of the Fox Cities
- Gold Cross Ambulance
- PaceSetters, Inc.
- Fox Valley Technical College – nursing, police and fire programs
- University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh College of Nursing Program
- Volunteer Fox Cities
- Rawhide Boys Ranch
- Riverview Gardens ServiceWorks
Additional 2019 event donations went to local high school cross country teams who volunteered to assist with water stations and a donation from the 2019 Ascension 5K went to the St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund.
