BLOG: Unveiling this year’s medals

Posted on Aug 30, 2018, by

The Community First Fox Cities Marathon presented by Miron Construction is excited to reveal the medals for the upcoming marathon weekend. The marathon weekend is September 21-23 and events include a Kids Fun Run, Diaper Dash & Toddler Trot, 5K, half marathon, marathon relay and a full marathon.

“Every year we do a custom medal and we try to come up with something that we think runners will get excited about, and this year we’re paying homage to Wisconsin. With that home theme, and you’ll see a little dot right where the Fox Cities are located,” Tara Perre, vice president marketing for Community First Credit Union, said.

This year’s medals are a combination of brushed metal and translucent stained glass. Those who participate in the marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, and 5K will receive a medal.

There are opportunities to get out and train with other runners preparing for the marathon weekend. PaceSetters of the Fox Cities hosts a run every Saturday morning starting at Runaway Shoes at 7 a.m. Moms Run This Town/She Runs This Town host weekly runs as well using various routes. It’s not too late to sign up for a race and start training for your special medal!
